Your privacy is important to us. Noli was designed to provide a safe, supportive space for emotional wellness while respecting your privacy. We believe your personal reflections and wellness information should remain personal.

Information We Collect

Noli does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the app.

Information you choose to enter into Noli, such as journal entries, mood check-ins, reflections, favorites, and app preferences, is stored locally and privately on your device. This information is not uploaded to Noli's servers, stored in a Noli cloud account, or shared by Noli with third parties.

Because your Noli information is stored locally on your device, Noli does not currently provide cross-device syncing or access to your Noli data from another device. For example, information entered on your phone will not automatically appear on an iPad or another phone. This local-storage approach is an intentional part of Noli's privacy design.

Backups: Because your Noli information is stored on your device, it is included in your device's own backups (for example, iCloud Backup or Google backup) if you have them turned on. These backups are created and managed by Apple or Google under their terms, and Noli does not have access to them. If you restore your device from a backup, your Noli information is restored as well, except for Vault notes (see below). Noli information cannot be transferred between iPhone and Android devices.

Vault: Notes in the Vault are encrypted on your device with a key that never leaves your device. For your privacy, Vault notes are not included in device backups and cannot be restored on a new or replacement device.

If you choose to purchase a premium subscription, payment processing is handled securely by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play. Noli does not receive or store your payment card or payment account information.

How Your Information Is Used

Information stored within Noli is used solely to provide the features and functionality of the app.

Your journal entries, mood check-ins, reflections, favorites, and other user-generated content remain stored locally on your device. Noli does not sell, rent, or share this information with third parties.

Calendar Access

Noli offers an optional calendar feature that can help you identify patterns between your schedule and your mood.

If you choose to use this feature, Noli will request permission to access your device's calendar. You can choose whether to grant or deny this permission.

If permission is granted, Noli accesses your device's local calendar for the previous 60 days. Noli uses event start and end times only to identify patterns in how busy or light your calendar has been.

Noli does NOT access or use: event titles, event descriptions, event locations, attendees or participants, or any other details contained within your calendar events.

Calendar information is processed locally on your device and is not uploaded to Noli's servers, stored in a Noli cloud account, or shared by Noli with third parties.

You can revoke calendar access at any time through your device's settings.

Health Data

Noli offers optional health insights that can help you identify patterns between your sleep, activity, and mood.

If you choose to use this feature, Noli will request permission to access health data through Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). You can choose whether to grant or deny this permission.

If permission is granted, Noli reads your sleep and exercise/step data for the previous 60 days to identify patterns between your sleep, activity, and mood. On iOS, Noli also writes your in-app meditation sessions to Apple Health as mindful minutes, so they appear alongside your other health data; on Android, this access is read-only and Noli never writes data to Health Connect.

Health data is processed locally on your device and is not uploaded to Noli’s servers, stored in a Noli cloud account, or shared by Noli with third parties.

You can revoke this access at any time through your device’s settings — on iOS, under Privacy & Security > Health > Noli; on Android, in the Health Connect app’s settings or in Android’s Privacy settings.

Cycle Tracking

Noli offers an optional cycle tracker to help you notice how your cycle may relate to your mood and energy.

If you choose to use it, the information you enter, such as cycle start dates and cycle length, is stored only on your device. Noli does not upload your cycle information to its servers, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising. Noli cannot see or access this information, and therefore cannot provide it to anyone.

You can delete your cycle information at any time by using Reset All Data in Settings or by deleting the app.

Data Storage

Your Noli-generated content is stored locally on your device. Noli does not maintain a cloud account or server-based storage for your journal entries, mood check-ins, reflections, favorites, or other user-generated content.

Because this information is stored locally, Noli cannot access, retrieve, or restore your information if it is lost, deleted, or becomes inaccessible on your device.

Deleting the Noli app may also delete locally stored Noli information, depending on your device and operating system settings.

Your device's operating system may independently back up app data through services such as Apple's iCloud backup or Android device backup. These backups are controlled by your device's operating system and applicable platform privacy policies, rather than by Noli.

App Lock, the Vault, Reminders, and Sharing

If you turn on App Lock, Noli uses your device's built-in security, such as Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, face unlock, or your device passcode or PIN, to unlock the app. Your device checks this privately; Noli never receives or stores your biometric information.

The Vault's PIN and contents are stored only on your device.

Reminders and check-in notifications are scheduled on your device and are not sent through Noli's servers.

If you choose to share something from Noli, such as an image of your garden, it is shared only through your device's share options, to the people or apps you select. Shared garden images do not include your journal entries, Glimmers, letters, or check-ins.

App Analytics and Crash Reporting

Noli uses services provided by Apple (on iPhone) and Google (on Android) to understand app performance and improve the Noli experience. These services may provide information such as app downloads, usage, device or operating-system information, and crash or diagnostic information.

This analytics and diagnostic information is subject to Apple's and Google's privacy practices and may depend on your device settings and whether you have chosen to share analytics and diagnostic information with app developers.

Noli does not use these services to upload or store your journal entries, mood check-ins, reflections, favorites, or the content of your calendar events.

Third-Party Services

Noli may use Apple, Google, or other third-party services that are necessary to provide app functionality, process subscriptions, support analytics, or identify and address technical issues such as crashes.

These services may process limited technical or app-related information as necessary to provide their services. Their use of information is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Noli does not intentionally transmit your journal entries, mood check-ins, reflections, favorites, or calendar event information to third-party services for storage or analysis.

Children's Privacy

Noli is intended for adults and is not directed toward or intended for children under the age of 13. Noli does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Noli does not require users to create an account or provide personal identifying information. User-generated content within Noli, such as journal entries, mood check-ins, and reflections, is stored locally on the user's device and is not collected or maintained by Noli on its servers.

If we become aware that Noli has knowingly received personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to address the situation, consistent with applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes to Noli's features, services, or privacy practices. When this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date.
